How do we find the derivative of the function:



In trigonometric derivatives we learned the derivatives of sine and cosine. Those are the ones we learn by heart.

So, it is a good idea to write the equation as function of those.

By the definition of secant:



So, here we make use of good old chain rule:







And that's it.
